​Tydewater Strategic K9 uses specialized selection testing to find dogs which have the drives and character traits necessary to perform both detector and patrol functions. All teams are trained and certified to a National Standard which provides credibility to their training and capabilities.

Private One on One Training

Tydewater Strategic K9 offers obedience training to the general public. Training offered in the areas of on leash training, off leash training, and advanced obedience. Behavioral problems are evaluated and solved to the customers satisfaction.

Mark has more than 20 years experience in the Public Safety field from Paramedic, to Law Enforcement Officer to National Security Investigator.  
​Tydewater Strategic Services, LLC. was established in 2016 due to a local need for Police K9 Training services. After working several years for another vendor Mark started his own company in an effort to bring additional training services to the area.  

Mark started his law enforcement career in 1997 and retired in 2016. Mark served in many capacities through out his career such as: Corrections, Patrol Officer, Patrol Supervisor, K9 Handler, K9 Trainer, K9 Supervisor, Tactical Team Operator, Tactical Medic, Counter Sniper and Team Leader. Mark has been a Nationally Accredited Trainer of Utility and Narcotic Detection Teams since 2010 and is a Life Member of the North American Police Work Dog Association.
Mark is also a Maryland Certified Law Enforcement Academic and Firearms Instructor. ​
